DSQUARED2

From school in the city to vacation on Canada’s snowy slopes, the Dsquared2 kids of Fall Winter are wearing a new look next winter. Glamour meets grunge ‘Glunge’ in a bold lineup.

Taking cues from the Dsquared2 men’s and women’s co-ed looks that share shapes and fabrics, girls’ and boys’ pieces are informed with brand signatures. Red-and-black check, denim mixed with other materials for new jacket cuts and dresses in new silhouettes: these kids have fun with fashion, taking their style cues from street, ski and formal wear.

Wrapping up against the icy temps, Dsquared2’s outerwear comes in traditional peacoat styles with maxi pockets in contrast red eco-leather and a hooded parka with denim, down and corduroy elbow patches. Trimmed with wool in shearling style details, down coats are ultra light and practical. Bombers are constructed in mixes of denim and check fabric or tech nylon with athletic-inspired red and white V stripes. Dark blue, black or acid-wash jeans feature appliquéd patches spelling Dsquared2 in cropped, slightly loose shapes, worn with the season’s hiking style boots and sweatshirts printed with a graphic of a skier and the word Icon&mdashbelonging to the brand’s Icon collection. Denim is also given a feminine edge, in a plissé front dress&mdashfor girls and baby girls&mdash and jeans covered in mini floral embroideries or mini ruffles on the knees and ankles.

Other dresses meld grunge with romance: long-sleeved with ruffles in floral print edged with black lace and another black design covered with flowers in velvet flock. These are paired with striped socks, hiking boots and knitted beanies embellished with pink blooms. A two-piece suit for boys features a jacket with a built-in gilet, and a red-and- black check jacket and gilet with patch pockets and zips, worn with dark denim pants, white shirts and black ties, and a zipped nylon bomber.

Mountain-inspired pieces have a grunge layered look in oversized knits and cardigans, sweatshirts and knits combined with flowing check shirt inserts on the hem, and a dress in jersey at the top, a shirt bottom with sleeves in check that tie at the waist. A black- and-white print of trees on a mountain appears on a silk dress and top.

Patches and flowers detail accessories including knitted woolen hats, backpacks and boots&mdashbuilt with inside zips for ease of wear.

Babies follow their older siblings’ style. Denim pants are paired with sweatshirts and a knitted gilet with a jacquard design of elk over a denim shirt for baby boys, and baby girls wear a red floral bomber and hooded sweatshirts.
